Let's get down in Barcelona
Apr. 18th, 2012 12:42 amI just got back from a weekend spent in Spain and Andorra! :D (in media res, much?)
( I like romancin' but I don't wanna )

It was nice, though, (nice isn't ever going to be a strong enough word, but it will have to do) to come back to an inbox full of facebook messages saying happy birthday. ♥ I am so blessed for my family and friends; I can't put it into words.
Happy 560th Birthday, Leonardo da Vinci.

TODAY WAS A GOOD DAY! :D
I am so heppi rn. Love to everyone!
( and retroactive love, of course, to Leonardo da Vinci, who would be 559 today. Or a zombie. He may have been a genius, but for once, I'll take my end of the deal :D )

Mar. 3rd, 2011 05:31 pmTHIS IS SO MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANYTHING I COULD BE WORKING ON RIGHT NOW: OMGOMGOMG DISCWORLD CONVENTION, ALSDKFAL;OMGGGG NEW BOOK COMING (EVENTUALLY),
OMG OMG OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG SO MUCH DOPAMINERGIC ACTION IN MY BRAIN AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH SHAKING AND CRYING AND FAPPING AND DYING HARDCORE RN ;ALSKDJF;ASLDJ;ASDJG; FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

...So I didn't realize how cool it would be to go on exchange until I spent the whole day thinking about it. It would be so cool! (Almost thirty thousand dollars worth of coolness, in fact, which is terrifying, and a Con... but omgomgomg a year abroad a;sldkfja;sldfkj stars in my eyes~)
The decision deadline is Friday at 4:30pm, and I need to get my rear in gear and research possible courses and shizz. If I accept, there is a mountain of paperwork and a ton of research to do. I know going abroad by myself in a foreign country would be incredibly tough at times, but I can't help believing that it would be a simply amazing experience, too. Do I need to toss the rose-tinted glasses? Or is this actually a once-in-a-lifetime chance to live and study in a different country?

EVENTFUL WEEKEND IS EVENTFUL.
Holy crap.
So,
music_est_vita was up this weekend from Toronto, Hallowed Place of the Working/Existent Transit System, and it was a fucking blast. The original plan was to do aimless things, such as hole up in my room and ogle Johnny Weir and Stephane Lambiel ("NICE THONG, JOHNNY!") while making fun of everyone's favourite heterosexual orange mongoose bro, Evan Lysacek. Needless to say, we deviated from this plan by... rather a lot.
( boys, boys, boys, buy us drinks in bars )
Holy crap.
So,

"Have a nice life, Caffrey" - SPOILERS
Mar. 11th, 2010 03:14 pm( SERIOUS CAPSLOCKY SPOILERS FOR WHITE COLLAR SEASON FINALE 1X14 "OUT OF THE BOX" )
**BREAK**
The thing about watching TV online, for me, is that I always end up getting distracted while doing so, or I end up pausing it sporadically to savour certain moments (read: every three seconds). So, instead of taking an hour to watch an episode, I somehow end up spreading the viewing out over the course, of, say four. I am terribly inefficient about this whole tv-watching business, but anyway. Today I took an hour break, and in that time, I:
- ate a cookie
- officially rented an apartment WTF I feel so grown-up
- started laundry
- saw a tree fall over, out of NOWHERE. I was walking to the Housing Office to drop off the signed lease, when I heard this odd noise. It sounded like dry leaves skittering across a sidewalk, only much louder. I looked up just in time to see a huge tree bend in slow motion, its silver-brown bark cracking, and crash to the ground, not two feet from some unsuspecting dude. I was all O.O. It was - for lack of a better word - intense.

OH MY HOLY INTERNET ON A HATSTAND THAT GAME WAS FUCKING GLORIOUS, Y/Y/Y/Y/Y/Y/Y/Y? (This post was going to take place a lot earlier but I just got back to Kingston an hour ago, so.)
I actually missed parts of it because it was too intense for me to handle I was helping with dinner BUT OH MY FREAKING GOD. Did anyone else almost shit their pants when the US scored with less than thirty seconds left in the game holy crap?! When I heard they were going into overtime, I almost had a heart attack, ngl.
But it was a really well-played game, from both sides. AND THEN CROSBY, HOLY SHIT. ♥ Even my dad started cheering and jumping up and down when that shot went in. And if you know my dad, you'd know how darn surreal that was. My mom and I were off to the side, having our own little fits of hysterics.
;A;LSDKFJA;SLDFKJA;HTERNG;DJ I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE IT. And just. The players were so happy when the flags were raised, and everyone was hugging and celebrating (in fact, we almost couldn't get to our bus because bits of Front St. were cordoned off) and seriously pure awesome.
And a fucking Gold Medal record, hellz to the yesplz!
O CANADA, WHY SO AWESOME?! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

It occurs to me that if I tried to post on Twitter like I do on LJ, someone would come along and bash my head in with a keyboard. Deep, meaningful posts just don't translate as well... /sarcasm
Anyway, I survived my first full day of work. Go me. I'll probably regret not posting about it in more detail when I'm like ninety, but I'd rather post about HOW AWESOME THE NU!TREK FANDOM IS. BECAUSE IT'S AWESOME.
![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
There's also an RPF comm that I shall link to once I can be bothered to find it. YAY, PR0N.
Okay, can I have a minor freak out sesh? Thanks.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAHH ASHLEY WHY ARE YOU EMAILING ME AGH. I knew I shoud've checked that account earlier. Whooooops. But it's mostly ok, cause if work ends at five, i don't really thinkg I'll be able to make it to practice anyway. BUT OK. Unexpected remembrance is unexpected. I do kind of miss everyone, though.
Back to Star Trek: AL;KDJF;ALERNASIFFA; WHAT A SHOW. Watched some TOS with

Obviously, there are the gender/racial issues that the show has as a result of the time it was prduced, but it's such a refreshing breath of air after, well, lots f things, so overall, I don't complain.
AND BY THE WAY: HBP TIX FOR THE MIDNIGHT SHOWING, 12:01 AM ON THE 15TH HOLY CRAP I AM SOOOOO EXCITED.
Basically, so much GLEEEE~~~
Happy 557th Birthday, Leonardo da Vinci

...Yeah.
Jeez, I feel old. In two years, I'll be twenty. That's old. (I'm making this face right now, O.O, can you tell?)
Anyway, I received some lovely gifts today, including but not limited to:
- a chocolate bar
- a box of notepads (Haha! Latin will be even *more* entertaining!)
- eighteen condoms, wut. Have we missed the part where I am destined to be a virgin forever? (To
![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
- an extension on the Awful Bio Unit Test of Doom, yayz
- ...kind of my prom dress
- BIRTHDAY BEATS :-)
