I keep meaning to post about specific topics or what I've been doing these last few days, but I'm always side-tracked either by HP fic (I'm on a serious binge right now, you guys. Unfortunately, most of what I mem'd in grade 7 is either deleted or crap) or by exchange obligations. (Also, I clearly haven't been on in a while, because I spent a couple minutes chuckling to myself at my icon. *facedesk*)
photos under cut )

That's pretty much it for now; parents are away next week, so I'm planning to slog through the 50+ tabs of X-Men fic I have open and actually, you know, catch up with the important things in my life, aka fandom.

*To my surprise, truing is a word.

I still feel so hollow. Like part of me has just been wiped out of existence. HARRY POTTER, Y U HAVE TO END?!

I swear, if I think about it too hard, I will start crying and never stop. It feels like there's this gigantic pent-up wave of emotion in me, waiting to bust forth greatly with joy except not and swallow me whole.

All I can process is ;LASKDJF;ALSKDTASK;ASDGKA MY CHILDHOOD!!! DDDD;;;;;;;;
HOMG HOMG HOMG HOMG HOMGGGGGGGG JUST GOT BACK FROM SEEING HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 1!!!!!!!!!!!

there are no actual spoilers here/it's already past time for spoiler cuts anyway, but it is ALL IN CAPS, so cut to spare your eyes )

THIS MOVIE HAS WON ALL THE THINGS, I HAVE EYES FOR NO OTHER.

AND THROUGH THE ENTIRE THING, PEOPLE IN THE THEATER ONLY TOLD ME TO SHUT UP TWICE, SO W/E W/E HATERS GONNA ROTATE.
SOOOOOOOOOOO LOOKIT THIS! BUTTERBEER! IRL! OMG! ONE ONE ONE!

MY NOT-SO-INNER HARRY POTTER NERD IS KIND OF ECSTATIC. BECAUSE WHO DOESN'T WANT TO TRY BUTTERBEER. (K, I am a bit dubious in re: how this would taste, BUT IT SHALL BE DONE OVER CHRISTMAS, MAKE NO MISTAKE)

...and I clearly am an idiot/go to Queen's/HAVE NOT LEARNED MY LESSON because my first thought was "wait, where's the alcohol in here?"
There are two parts to this post. Part One is exponentially less exciting than Part Two, so I'll try to make it short and sweet.

Part One: coffee )

Part Two

OKAY SO. GUESS WHAT HAPPENED THIS MORNING? AT TWELVE-OH-ONE AYEMME? THAAAAAT'S RIGHT! I SAW

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

SPOILERS FOR HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE!!!!! )

Life, Currently, In 3 Lines:

a;dliasekrja;wek  I hate math. >.<

The exam is over. We are on to bigger and better things like Calculus, ohgodwhy.

I am wearing an awesome outfit. </shallow>

Recs

There are two recs this week, on account of life kicking my ass last week. Hurrah, free time!

1) Six Ways of Looking at Chase - [livejournal.com profile] supacat
This is... a multitude of things. Wonderful. Enchanting. A great look at Chase through House's eyes. Charming. Funny. Something you should go read. Now. Ways Chase is (un)predictable. Ways Chase is awesome. Ways Chase is Chase.

Goodbye, syntax. It was nice knowing you.

2) All Hail James Potter, or Why You Should Both Take A Minute From Your Incessant Shagging To THANK Me, You Ungrateful Gits: A Letter to Mssrs. Sirius O. Black and Remus J. Lupin, from M. James D. Potter. by jennuine

Annnnnd, a Marauder era rec. Warnings: fic may cause explosive laughter, the snorting out of drinks through the nose, excessive flailing and gesturing, and general good spirits. Read at your own risk.

Finally, am I the only one who's never heard of this? Probably.

WALL-E!

That movie was SO CUTE and happy and beautiful, and sadly I think very indicative of the human race, and OH MY GOD I LOVE IT. Wall-E is adorable and ridiculous and amazing, and Eve was kickass and AWESOME. Although M-O was probably my favourite character. "Woah, woah, woah woah!" AND THE DEFUNCT ROBOTS WERE PRICELESS. ANARCHY ON THE CRUISE SHIP!

A++++ movie.

ALSO I READ THE TALES OF BEEDLE THE BARD. WHICH WERE ALSO AMAZINGLY AWESOME AND HAVE FOOTNOTES AND COMMENTARY BY ALBUS DUMBLEDORE; YES, YOU READ THAT RIGHT - ALBUS DUMBLEDORE.

Who is brilliant and funny and witty and sarcastic and dead.

NB: The line "humans inadvertantly choose the things that are the worst for them"* is to Harry Potter as "I wish I could quit you" is to Brokeback Mountain.

*paraphrased because I can't actually remember the exact wording

...um, also I might kind of be watching the BBC show Merlin. It is definitely a great outlet for escapism. Dragons and knights and subtext magic, oh my!

Ladies and Gents, for your pleasure, I present:

CRACK. Or something like it.

Me, [profile] moonangelchan and [personal profile] music_est_vita were in Google Docs, looking at a brilliant fic in the works... this is the result.
NOTES: the fic involved Gellert Grindelwald and Albus Dumbledore, both young (that three month period when they met).

I invite you to (hopefully) enjoy this, if you can stand the formatting.
This is a lengthly excerpt from our googledocs!conversation.

PS HAVE YOU SEEN THE HOUSE S5 PROMO TRAILER? THEY SHOULD JUST COME OUT AND FUCKING SAY IT ALREADY!! OMFG. I LOVE THIS SHOW.
So I meant to post this about a week ago...

And it's finally here! Sit back, relax, and scoff at enjoy a taste of my reactions to and thoughts on HP7.

Well, frankly, my first thought was "holy crap, this is the seventh book! Once I'm done this, there will be no more Harry Potter." And then I channeled Shoebox  "What am I to do? Where am I to go? WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF LIFE?!"

After which, I finally settled down to read. And what a read it was.

Holy goodness. I just-- MAJOR INCOHERENCY, PEOPLE!
Here, I'll try to organize it. Please note: these points are not in any sort of order from least to greatest, ot anything like that. I just typed what I thought.

SPOILERS )

And now:

Anyway, all in all, brilliant book.  Wonderfully twisty and a perfect finish (ignoring epilogue) to this  spellbinding series.
