Contradictio in Terminis

Well, I'm back in Kingston. Pleasantly surprised to find that the apartment is a) still standing, and b) relatively clean. Right now I'm just taking a minute to be slightly overwhelmed by the amount of work I've neglected over reading week: not merely readings, but also a lab report (I think I need to scrap what I have so far and start over again, because things are looking wonky, arrgh), a German assignment, and the part where I have until Friday to make a decision about going on exchange.

Thankfully, with the power of To-Do lists, I have Plans, which will hopefully allow me to take the stick out of my ass so I can pretend to be Normal. Also, coffee. There is nothing that cannot be conquered by the addition of More Caffeine. 

The weekend was totally worth the imminent stress, though. On Saturday, I slept in (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was glorious~), baked banana bread and hung out with Eden before having dinner with the grandparents. Later, Chloe came over and we skyped cherishedsaulie  and watched the vlogbrothers until two in the morning. I HAVE BEEN CONVERTED. Extremely belated though I am, ;alskdjf;asd I have oodles of love for them now. Today, we had the relatives over for Oma's birthday lunch. I do not think my waistline was helped by the entire table of chicken rice/chow mein/salmon OMG I devoured, but I'm reminding myself that university fare starts again on Monday, so it's completely justified.

OH AND BY THE WAY, WHITE COLLAR EP 2.14 IS THE MOST AMAZING THING EVER OH MY GOD IT IS LIKE FIC ON TELEVISION.

One last tidbit and I'm done: THE EAGLE - NOW IN LATIN

This weekend has been full of Events! Which were Eventful!

Well, ok, not really, but my definition of "Eventful" is "did I get to leave the library?", so I judge accordingly.

*I've been fruitlessly searching google for a picture/video to link to, but alas! I don't even know the technical term for it. Googling "Baryshnikov jump" yields nothing but biographies and facebook.

OH WAIT: here, I think, is an example, 0:27-0:30. SUFFICE TO SAY: EXCITEMENT.

Yesterday (Friday), I biked to work in the rain. There was dirt everywhere, including in my hair, wtf. So, I got out of the shower at work all nice and clean... and realized I'd forgotten my clothes at my desk. Because I am awesome. :/

But aside from that, Friday was good. Saw The Karate Kid with cherishedsaulie  and vexinglyverbose . OH, THAT MOVIE. ♥ IT WAS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED: CUTE AND FUNNY, AND FULL OF CHEESY GOODNESS. (There is a soft spot in my heart for movies like this.) AND IT HAD JACKIE CHAN. I CANNOT ASK MORE THAN THAT. JACKIE CHAN IS KIND OF MY HERO BECAUSE HE IS SO AWESOME AND AND AND JUST. NO WORDS. *FLAILS* :D

So yeah, it was a ridiculously cute movie (Jaden Smith is about ten different kinds of adorable). I recommend it for those who will never truly outgrow the 9-12 age group.

After the movie, we went to Trevor's party. It was meh. People were already shitfaced by the time we got there, so Chloe and I stayed for a couple hours and then called it quits. We crashed at my house, and this morning, we made CHOCOLATE CHIP AND BLUEBERRY PANCAKES, OM NOM NOM NOM NOM.

Now, I'm just chilling. I've got work from 4:30-9:30 today, and then all day tomorrow.

OH AND I'm registered for my courses for next year! 3 different PSYC courses, 1 french lit course (not the one I really wanted, alas), and 1 intro to German course (because the Classics Department refused to let me into beginner Latin, arrrgh). Still, it should be fun. Oh man, I just realized that this is the longest I've gone without school in my life. Kinda scary.

I have done NOTHING today except sleep, dance and watch White Collar. It has been FANTASTIC.

AND OKAY SO RANDOM TIDBIT TIME. White Collar --> Good Omens. By which I mean Neal from White Collar has Crowley's eyes (except blue) and Crowley's hair (except brown) AND AS;DLFKJER;AGSDA FUCK I REALLY WANT TO MAKE THAT MOVIE. I was always really skeptical about any GO movie because who would play Crowley but ;AKLSDF;ASD THIS MAN WHAT.

(And we'd maybe have to do something about the eyebrows, but jesus fuck, okay?)

PS: And while I'm prattling about it, White Collar has some fucking awesome writing going for it. I'm still eagerly awaiting an episode wherein Peter gets into a fist fight (because that would rock, and you know he'd fight like Sir Samuel Motherfucking Vimes), but a;lsehalw;ekrasdk THIS SHOW. IDEK. ♥

OH YEAH: if you want a description of the show by someone who is coherent and uses semi-colons with reasonable integrity, GO HERE because copperbadge  just recced the everloving shit out of this show, and he does it with absolutely zero keyboeard smashes, which is something I totally admire.

EMPLOYMENT, FUCK YEAH!

Missing every french and latin class for the rest of May... not so awesome. BUT I MEAN C'MON IT'S FOR RUGBY. If we don't make it to the finals, I will shit bricks. But tomorrow we play Newtonbrook, and they're an OFSAA level team, and crikey, if we lose, Ashley's gonna kill us all. Well, also maybe Tait and Ms. Vujacic. But mostly Ashley. Aaaaaahh~ (If I can't get out of French to go to the game, I will not be pleased.)

Today, though, was the most chill rugby practice ever. We stood around for an hour asking Ashley questions.
