This weekend has been full of Events! Which were Eventful!
Well, ok, not really, but my definition of "Eventful" is "did I get to leave the library?", so I judge accordingly.
First, there was this:
11pm Friday night:
Sarah: "Oh, hey, it's eleven. Sweet, I think I'll go to bed early tonight and catch up on sleep."
Sarah: *puts on pjs, climbs into bed. Waits for sleep to come.*
Five minutes later:
Sarah's body: "OH NO YOU DON'T, BITCH" *EPIC NERVOUS BREAKDOWN OUT OF NOWHERE complete with snot, tears, rocking back and forth, and hyperventilation*
11:30pm:
Sarah: *after having regained ability to breathe* "What the fuck was that?!"
Dear Hormones: GTFO :/
But then Saturday! :DDD Went to all my dance classes for the first time in two weeks. I AM SO SORE BUT SO EXCITE FOR RECITAL. :D Our Broadway Jazz class is just *flaily hands*. AND IN VIDEODANCE, WE'RE USING LADY GAGA BRB FAPPING/CRYING/SHAKING/DYING FOREVAH~
I got back from dance with just enough time for a shower before Kim and Frank came over TO MAKE US SUPPER. Like. I AM STILL WHELMED ABOUT THE FOOD. IT WAS SO GOOD. Kim made escargots, and served them with baguettes and a really nice Chardonnay. (What can I say, we're just classy bitches all up in hurr~). Frank cooked catfish (which I've never had before, but was delicious), risotto and sauteed vegetables, which we ate with a bottle of Pinot Noir (which Iqra summarily finished single-handedly. I live with an alcoholic who wants to go to med school). It was five hours' worth of amazing deliciousness. So much love rn. ♥
After dinner, there was pie. Homemade strawberry pie. Have I mentioned the awesomeness of Kim and Frank? They are awesome, yea verily. It was good.
So, five solid hours of eating later, we all traipsed down to the movie theater (in the middle of a completely random snowstorm, %UH) to see what was playing. Unfortunately, we got cockblocked by Iqra's insistence on rom coms and were forced to backtrack to the house by virtue of her being a drunken whiny bitch. During this time, Frank and I bonded over our mutual sadistic tendencies as we convinced her to see Silence of the Lambs. However, going back turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as we finally settled on LotR. Sadly, it was not the extended edition, but it was absolutely hilarious nonethelessmy commentary totally improved it, what are you talking about. I FORGOT HOW MUCH I LOVE THAT MOVIE~ About twenty minutes in, Iqra (being much affected by the bottle of wine she had consumed) went to bed, but Frank, Kim and I stayed up to geek out over finish the movie; good times ;D
This morning, I went off to dance (o hai hiphop, haiiii) and then came back to find that Frank had made pancakes! We all took a minute to be ~whelmed by his awesomeness before digging in. Pancakes with PB&J = YES. After that, Kim and Frank had to leave, but not before we made plans for a Steampunk Party Potluck after Reading Week. ICH SUIS MUY MUY EXCITE!! :D
Finally, I went to lyrical this evening, where we learned some recital choreo to Celine Dion's "Alone". Not sure how I feel about the song choice, but I am SUPER EXCITED anyway, because I got picked to do a solo jump at the beginning of the piece! (Jazz hands go here.) It takes maybe three counts to perform - this is a recreational dance class, after all - but I am still absolutely flattered that Julie picked me out of all the other girls in the class. :D (Not that the selection process was very rigorous; she basically just watched us go in pairs across the floor - but still!) Now I have to learn how to actually do it*, lol.
*I've been fruitlessly searching google for a picture/video to link to, but alas! I don't even know the technical term for it. Googling "Baryshnikov jump" yields nothing but biographies and facebook.
OH WAIT: here, I think, is an example, 0:27-0:30. SUFFICE TO SAY: EXCITEMENT.
