We went to a tree dedication ceremony for Kevin yesterday. His parents couldn't be there, but his uncle was. He gave a short speech about him and said that "Kevin said going to Queen's was the best decision he'd ever made".

It broke my heart.

I thought about my exchange and how amazing it had been - the best decision of my life - and the thought of having all that ripped away so suddenly - no chance for a future, no chance for anything cause he's dead.

He was my student, and I am so sorry, I am so sorry, there are no words to express the depth of my grief. I am so sorry.
