Sunday of awesomesauce
Nov. 2nd, 2008 07:03 pmAlright, today was sweet and amazing, for a variety of reasons.
1) Visit to U of Guelph. The campus was really pretty and had a really welcoming atmosphere (I attribute this to the hordes of students standing on various sidewalk corners cheering as they directed traffic into the parking lots.) Also, there was dancing, which was ridiculous and really funny. Yay school spirit! We had a phenomenal tour guide (Student Ambassador?) by the name of Amy. She led us into I think most of the residences, which I liked more than McMaster's immediately. Especially the Lennox-Addington Hall, though I'm buggered if I can put my finger on why.
Anyway, yes, fun tour. It was also slightly strange to hear dad recounting stories of Guelph from his time there. Except he never painted the cannon, phooey.
2) So after the tour, we rushed back and I was dropped off downtown to see DAVE GIBBONS live at the WBB on Edward street. OMG it was the closest thing to cool I have ever been in 17 years. Concentrated Watchmen geekery. Nerds en masse. Dave Gibbons with his accent. SO FUN. I am jealous of the States where they get exciting things like this every, like, two weeks.
