searching for a fic...
I'm looking for a fic of the Sam/Dean variety that I read some time ago but seem to have lost. I don't remember it too clearly, but I do know it was vaguely Christmas-themed. The brothers Winchester decide to take a break from hunting after Sam gets mauled/contracts appendicitis (that part I remember, because I was thinking appendicitis, what?). So, after that, Dean decides they need a place to lie low for a bit, and they end up in a cabin somewhere... Their neighbours include a man who owns a small car repair shop (Henry? Hank?), an elderly gentleman, and a spirited woman whose name, I believe, was Mickey. I could be wrong about the names, but the general plot was Sam and Dean kind of sorting their lives out, and dealing with the hunting/not-hunting issues. Flashbacks were involved.
I remember thinking it was cute, and I'd really like to reread it, if anyone knows what it's called/who the author is.

Aha, never mind. Due to my incredible ineptness, I've been informed that the fic I've just described was actually two fics that I melded into one in my head. The Christmas-cabin flashback one is by Vee017 found at the Sam/Dean Slash Archive.
As for the other one, the one involving appendicitis and the neighbours, another cabin, and the togetherness/life-issues is still eluding me.

we are what we're supposed to be
I think I'm going crazy, I'm sure there are about 50 things wrong with me at any one time; surprisingly, I don't care at all. Right now, I'm horribly excited about school tomorrow -- I'm not necessarily looking forward to it, but my mind is pitching a mini-spazz right now and I CAN'T WAIT OMG NEW SCHOOL YEAR!!!! One more day!
I have been trapped in the house all day, although we were making pizza for most of it, so I really don't mind that much. I have probably just landed a new volunteer posish (as Bertie would say), which will give me the benefit of being able to write "experience as cashier" on my resume. The downside is that I have to travel halfway across town, which is one hour by TTC to get there.
Ta, folks, I'm off to scrounge for Snupin h/c. Wish me luck!

sam_storyteller. Run, do not walk, run over there now. Stealing Harry almost rivals Shoebox for my love, and its sequel, Laocoon's Children, makes me indescribably happy. The characterization is spot on (which is, you know, always an excellent thing in a fic), the plot is genius (Remus/Sirius FTW), and while reading it, I find myself developing a certin fondness for Snape/Tonks. Which, on any day would (with good reason) be considered downright scary, but here, it's actually... cute. I can't believe it. Amazing. Read. Now!

I decided that I should definetly write a fic-- a contribution to the fandom if you will. So now I'm going to bloody well write one, dammit!
