Hello, hello. Happy New Year (and really belated Merry Christmas) to everyone. I've just come back from three party/sleepovers in as many days. Well, party in any case, being New Year's, which I hosted. I've never hosted a party before, and after cleaning up the bathroom and mopping the kitchen floor three times, I'm not so sure I'd do it again. But people were mostly well-behaved and it was a good time, for sure. There are strange bruises on my arms, and I don't remember how they got there. Possibly from attacking Saad and beating him with my pillow.
Dear
moonangelchan : congratulations!
Right, so. Hosted my first party-inna-house, which I consider a teenage-typical if not particularly calming experience, though certainly not the worst way to start off the new year.
BTW saw the Olympic Torch in Collingwood! Most epic! Pictures forthcoming, when I get off my lazy ass and find the camera. (It was snowing that day, too, which is stereotypically perfect Canadian weather, no?)
Also saw the new Sherlock Holmes movie. A;SLDFJKAEW;INFAAS;FJA;LESKRNAUG WHAAAAAAT. It was funny and entertaining, though they thoroughly fucked up the canon, so I wouldn't watch it if I were too fanatical about the stories. BUT JUDE LAW AND RDJ BEING AWESOME AND HOT. YES PLZ. Their moments were actually toe-curlingly endearing. A++ WOULD LOL AGAIN. (AND NOW: TO THE SLASH-MOBILE, HOTSON!)
Had a Star Trek: TOS/movie marathon with Eden the other night, which was highly enjoyable. KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNN!!!!! Tribbles! Spock's beard! Oh my!
Slept over with
music_est_vita last night, wherein we both developed a minor gambling addiction (by which I mean exercised our legal rights as eighteen-year olds and bought lottery tickets. Sherlock Holmes lottery tickets.) and watched Criminal Minds. Y HALO THAR, Morgan/Reid. (Also, JJ is the shit. I like her.)
In... other perhaps-not-so-jolly things. On a scale of 1 to Reformatted Childhood Nightmare, how terrifying is it to see a parent cry? On the one hand, it is logical to accept that Things Kind Of Suck atm, and crying is a necessary release of emotional build-up. On the other, the part of me that's still 8 inside says that it's the childhood equivalent of trying to divide by zero and Should Not Happen because it's full of Do Not Want. And then, as the third party, it's all shit, she's crying, how do I make it better? followed by as;fjkasdif;a I don't know what to say I am terrible in these situations here have a hug oh shit she's still crying what do I do? My brother is kind of not helping by devoting even more of his time to the computer, but I think he's kind of scared and denial is aided by shooting enemies in COD4 or whatever game he's got. I don't actually blame him, cause we haven't actually talked about it.
But yeah. Biopsy results come in on January 13th, which is two days after Winter Term classes start. So I guess we'll see.
