THAT TASTES LIKE COCONUT
THIS WEEKEND HAS BEEN AN EXCITING ONE!
First things first: HOLY FUCKING CRAP IRON MAN 2!!!! OH MY GOD. THAT MOVIE. IT WAS AWESOME :DDDDDD I loved basically everything about it. Happy driving! Scarlet Johansson's stunt double kicking ass and taking names! Pepper being jealous/cute/FUCKING BOSS! TONYYYYYYYYYYYYY BEING TONYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Um. IDK, I need to see it again, because it is basically this giant, blinding, two-hour AWESOMESPLOSION! "That tastes like coconut!" "You can always count on me to pleasure myself." OH MAN TONY, PLEASE NEVER LEAVE. :DDD
OK OK AND AND how cute were Tony and Pepper, you guys? How adorable?! With the yelling and the talking and the strawberries and "I was going to MAKE YOU AN OMLETTE and then TELL YOU!" and ;alsdkjf;alsktja;lst I know they don't end up together in the comics, but I love them despite this. ♥ ♥ ♥ *rabid stan*
YEAH, I loved that movie. (Also, there was a preview for Inception which I NEED TO SEE because HELLO CILLIAN MURPHY and, almost more importantly, CILLIAN MURPHY'S MOUTH.) ♥________________________♥
Thing Two: Following the viewing of Iron Man 2, we crashed at my place for the night. Dinner involved mandoo dumplings. Or, more accurately, lots of charred and blackened things that might, in a previous lifetime, have been dumplings.
Chloe: *poking at dumplings in the pan* "D'you think these ones are ready yet?"
Sarah: "I dunno, how burnt are they?"
...Yeah. Culinary skills. I cannot haz them.
Mostly we just chilled in the basement and wrestled and danced and stuff. It was fun. This morning, we made blueberry-and-chocolate-chip pancakes, which were a complete success. OM NOM NOM BREAKFAST GOODIES. :D
Thing Three: After everyone had left, my brother and I went and baked a cake. Well, I baked it and he put up with my frantic demands of "Buy more honey, we're all out! And flour! And do the dishes plzkthx! And stir this! And hold this! Ahhhh!" (It is not very fun to be around me when I'm trying to be competent.) The cake - something from the midst of Joy of Cooking, IDEK - is a "honey cake"* involving walnuts, raisins, an obscene amount of honey, and my own special addition: melted plastic.
Ok, so I didn't actually mean to bake in a plastic tip from one of the beaters. It just kind of... happened. ORZ. As I was spooning the batter into the baking pan, David says he saw something white fall in, but took it for a flour-coated raisin. Later, with the cake safely in the oven, I was doing the dishes and I noticed that the tip was missing from one of the beaters. How odd, I thought, showing it to David. "Oh yeah," he said, "I think I saw that..." ...Whoops.What can I say, dad, it's just a really special birthday cake.
ANYWAY. That was my day. I think I just heard my parents come through the door, so I'mma go say hi and see about dinner because I am hungryGIVE ME A SAUSAGE!
* Also? It was sparkly. I kid you not. I was stirring the wet ingredients in a pot on the stove, wondering what exactly qualified as "well combined" when I looked down and noticed that the mixture was sparkling, what the hell. I was really weirded out. I continue to be weirded out. WTH.
