Epic Kitchen Adventures Pt. 1
Spent all day in the kitchen today. I'm such a good housewife. I have baked many things!
First, homemade bagels:

They're in the fridge for now, but I'm super excited to bake them tomorrow for breakfast.
Next up: Whole Wheat Challah with Hone and Spices:

Say it with me: HOLY NOMMY GOODNESS. And lo, it is. (I still have like half of it left over for tomorrow.) Today was the first time I worked with yeast dough (ie: I had to knead it and everything), and I was kinda worried about how it would turn out, but the challah came out ok. It was pretty work-intensive, but I would probably make it again just so I could perfect it.
Numero trois: Return of the Smoked Cheddar and Apple Scones (to a plethora of accolades, I might add).

More overachieving (except not; I totally overcooked the asparagus) in the form of Spicy Maple Asparagus. The marinade wasn't too impressive, all things considered - I thought it could have been a bit more flavourful - but then again, I did have to substitute chili powder for the pure chili the recipe called for.

(It looks kinda like something died on the baking tray.)
In between, there was Carrot Salad with Moroccan Dressing.
And to round off the evening: cornbread! I've never had cornbread before, but it was pretty delicious, if I do say so myself. Excited for tomorrow's modifications. ;)
