QDC JUST DANCE 2011 = MY LIFE ♥

I can't believe dance is over! There is a gigantic gaping void in my life now, where dance class used to be, and I can't believe that it's all gone by so fast.

Recital was a huge success! :D I haven't gotten much audience feedback (parents don't count; I think they were more preoccupied with my haircut), but on Saturday, the crowds were amazing, and being on stage felt amazing, and the other dancers were amazing, and it was all ~so beautiful~ ;asldkfjals;d I AM WHELMED BY THE AWESOME!

alors on danse~ )
I wish we could all just dance forever. ♥________♥

*I keep wanting to make self-deprecating jokes about people seeing me in my underwear, and then I remember that for Videodance, my costume was underwear, so it's a bit late to be worrying about modesty, I guess.
;ALSDFJKAL;SDKJ;ALSKTJ;LASDTJL;AS SO I JUST DONATED LIKE 13 INCHES OF MY HAIR TO CANCER IT WAS REALLY EXCITING AND I AM EXCITED CAN YOU TELLLLL?!?!?!?!?!

BECAUSE PRODUCTIVITY IS FOR N00BS.

Below the cut: my partial costume for our Videodance number, which is choreographed to a Lady Gaga mashup (Bad Romance, Alejandro, Just Dance). Uh, warnings for derpy photos and me wearing revealing clothing? If this offends anyone, I apologize in advance!
Image-heavy-ish! Also, again, I'm wearing kind of saucy clothing? IDK, IT'S GAGA!  )

I feel really weird posting this, but I'm really excited for recital, and I've never bedazzled a sports bra done my own costume before.
This weekend has been full of Events! Which were Eventful!

Well, ok, not really, but my definition of "Eventful" is "did I get to leave the library?", so I judge accordingly.

I'm not scared of your dirrrrrrty love... )

*I've been fruitlessly searching google for a picture/video to link to, but alas! I don't even know the technical term for it. Googling "Baryshnikov jump" yields nothing but biographies and facebook.

OH WAIT: here, I think, is an example, 0:27-0:30. SUFFICE TO SAY: EXCITEMENT.
The other thing that no one tells you about things like this is how trivial everything else seems afterward.
Under the cut: Dance. More dance. Loads of dance. Some serious stuff at the beginning. Then dance. ).

*Or maybe it just feels like such because there is no air conditioning in any of the dance studios, WHAT THE HELL.
** Repeat after me: I am not prejudiced against Drama majors, I'm not prejudiced against Drama majors...
*** "What do you mean, you want me to feel the music?! Eames, this is ridiculous." "Nonsense! Feel the character, Arthur! Be Betty!"
**** Instructors: let's talk about them. I like all of the instructors I've had so far, especially Julie, whom I already know, but I miss Bri. Dance just won't be the same without her. I know all the other dance instructors are also awesome and competent, but I think she was special. She was one of the nicest people I've met, and I think she really respected us as a class (not that other instructors don't, it's just... well). She was lovely and patient, and always took the time to make sure we were following and liking the choreography - and more than that, it was the little things that really highlighted her competence. Like how she would demonstrate things on both halves of the room so everyone could see, and how she ensured that lines were switched up regularly so everyone got a chance at the front. Videotaping the choreo for people to practice at home. Things like that, simple things that made class just that much more often. She was the first dance instructor (hiphop classes were just before lyrical) I've ever had, and I think I can say she will be remembered fondly as one of the best. <3
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE OH MY GOD!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE x< 9000 DANCE!!

AAAAAAHHHHHH I JUST GOT BACK FROM OUR LAST SHOW, AND JUST. WE KILLED IT, WE FUCKING KILLED IT. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

I mean, there were some mistakes, obviously (ie: I completely froze  and forgot my footwork for hip hop in the Saturday matinee) BUT OH MY GOD DANCE IS LIKE THE BEST THING THAT'S HAPPENED TO ME EVER I LOVE IT SO MUCH. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥♥ ♥ ♥ ♥♥ ♥ ♥ ♥♥ ♥ ♥ ♥♥ ♥ ♥ ♥♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

And our Inter Lyrical number was so awesometastic; everyone knew their choreo and even though there were some spacing mishaps on stage, we pulled it off like nothing. ♥ Also, we almost reduced Julie to tears when we gave her her card+gift at the end, aaaaawww~~~

And Bri was so proud of us too (she gave me a high five after every show, I just about died ♥ ).

This is our Beginner Hip Hop class at dress rehearsal:

And this is our Intermediate Lyrical class at Friday's show, because I have no idea how to embed things from facebook.

Dance is so much fun, and I can't wait till it starts again next year (like, actually, I. Cannot. Wait.)

I AM SO HAPPY~ :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
